About The Event

This field day offers the opportunity to tour a beautiful and successful orchard, network with fellow organic fruit growers, and learn new ideas through facilitated group discussion.

As we walk through Grandview Orchard, we will talk about specific aspects of orchard management, such as regenerative agriculture principles and practices, understory management, soil improvement, spray strategies, animals in the orchard. Lisa is ready to share successes and failures as she is in year four of turning an unprofitable conventional orchard into a successful organically managed orchard with a holistic approach.

Following the tour, Nathan Harman from Advancing Eco Agriculture will join us to talk about the plant health pyramid and plant sap analysis, a way to pinpoint nutritional imbalances weeks before they cause any damage. 

At the end of the day, we will have the opportunity to tour Jeff Utech's certified organic blueberry farm (Utech Rainbow Farm, 3880 Rainbow Dr, Merrill,…
